OUTLINE

@The medicinal plant, Licorice, mainly grows on arid lands. This study especially deals with Glycyrrhiza uralensis growing in Mongolia. The root of licorice has been compounded about 70% of herbal medicines in Japan because it has an important medicinal element called Glycyrrhizin (GC). Now a day, it is apprehensive that the density and distribution of Licorice gradually reduce due to the expansion of desertification area and mankind impact.
The aim of this study is not only to prevent desertification by cultivating licorice with high quality, but also to find out the optimum soil conditions for better growoing Glycyrrhiza uralensis with high quality.

MAINCONTENTS
@There are three important subjects considered.

1.

To show the soil water control methodology and system without any artificial energy by using a Suction Drain materials proposed below(Part 1).
2.

To clear the optimum soil ground and water conditions for well growing
the Glycyrrhiza Uralensis(GU)(Part 2).
3.

To develop a rational methodology for selecting high-quality GU, together with for breeding the high-quality GC in large quantities (Part 3).
