Development of the cultural practice for producing
high quality berries of 'BK Seedless'

@@'BK Seedless'is the table grape cultivar bred in Kyushu University. It produces large–sized seedless berries with labor saving. The berries were black–purple in rind color and contained high concentration of soluble solid sugars (20-25% in Brix). Development of the cultural practice is necessary for constant production of high quality berries of'BK Seedless'. In this research project, tastes were analyzed with taste sensing system, and effects of girdling on coloring and tastes of berries were investigated. Taste analyses showed'BK Seedless'has special balance of tastes. Girdling treatment hastened the coloring time and promoted accumulation of soluble solid sugars.
